Mixed mode capable repeaters such as the Motorola Quantar would then be able to operate in both a digital narrow as well as analog wide depending on which type of radio was used to access the repeater allowing perhaps a digital QSO for those who have the P25 radios as well as support conventional wideband for those who have analog radios.
At this time there is no indication that a change to the 20khz bandplan nor migration of DSTAR to a unique area of the repeater band is necessary.
